The carbon group (also known as the tetrals) in the periodic table includes the six chemical elements of group 14: carbon (C), silicon (Si), germanium (Ge), tin (Sn), lead (Pb), and flerovium (Fl). These elements have four valence electrons, and they all lie in the p-block.
Carbon is the lightest element in the carbon group. In this group, carbon is a reactive nonmetal, two elements (silicon and germanium) are metalloids, and the other two elements (tin and lead) are post-transition metals.
